FAQs

  • What is Drylining?

Drylining is a system for cladding the internal walls and ceilings of buildings. Plasterboards are attached to the internal structure creating a smooth surface ready for decorating.

  • What is tape and jointing?

Tape and jointing is a system used to reinforce and cover plasterboard joints to leave a smooth surface ready for decoration.

  • What is dot and dab?

Dot and dab is a technique which replaces the use of traditional wet plaster and is now frequently used in new build developments. It allows plasterboard to be directly bonded to masonry walls using an adhesive which is applied by trowel in dots or dabs.

  • What is the difference between cornice and coving?

Cornice is the generic term applied to a moulding designed to conceal the join between the wall and the ceiling. Coving usually refers to a type of cornice that is simple in design and uniform in profile.

  • What is a suspended ceiling?

Suspended ceilings are secondary ceilings suspended from the structural floor above, creating a void space that can be used to run services such as water and electrics.
