Partitions are non-loadbearing internal walls which divide the interior space into rooms. They can be built from all kinds of deferent materials, but these are the most common types.
Usually built in a lightweight block by other trades, these partitions can offer a better sound insulation than alternative options. We then attach plasterboards to the block walls using a technique known as dot and dab.
Commonly used in residential housing as a lightweight material that can be quickly assembled on site. The framework can then be insulated with mineral wool before plasterboards are mechanically fastened to each side.
Now widely used in modern construction as it offers the same benefits of a timber partition and does not warp, shrink or compress.
